WWE: Reason behind Undertaker’s absence at the Fastlane PPV

New Delhi, March 10: Last Sunday, we have got the final PPV before Wrestlemania where a new Universal champion was crowned. Also, going into the PPV, there were a lot of speculations ongoing with a number of returns.

Names like Finn Balor, Kurt Angle, and the Undertaker were part of the rumour mill to appear on the show. However, no one did show up on the night.

Fans blamed the WWE creative stating that the PPV was badly booked. There were no such twists in store worth to remember. Also, Goldberg's championship win received some serious fan backlash.

One appearance could have been the savior of the night and that was of the Undertaker's but that was pulled off from the show. Initially, he was supposed to make his presence feel at a certain point to seek redemption against Roman Reigns. The Phenome was eliminated by him at Royal Rumble to plant the seeds of the Wrestlemania match.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported as of why the appearance was nixed out of the scene. The creative thought that too many interferes in between the marquee matches on the night might turn out to be as negative.

Undertaker interrupting the Reigns-Strowman match meant that there would have been interference in the last three matches on the card.

Before this one bout, Sasha Banks showed up in between the Charlotte-Bayley match to let the later one retain the title. Later, during the Universal championship match, Chris Jericho interfered to cost Owens his title. Goldberg took full advantage of it to pin the former title-holder.



It is true that too many swerve on one single night might have been made it overly booked. Hence, the planning team let Undertaker appear on the next night's edition of Raw where The Undertaker made a major statement against Roman Reigns.

The Wrestlemania rivalry between Reigns and Undertaker had started with the chokeslam delivered by the Deadman on the show. There's no confirmation whether he will appear in the next episode of Raw but Roman Reigns should cut a promo with Taker's actions.
