Reason WWE brought John Cena back to Monday Night Raw

Bengaluru, August 31: John Cena was not seen in the WWE after Wrestlemania 33. He returned from his movie commitments on July 4th. It was earlier announced by WWE that he will be a “free agent” of the WWE which meant that he could compete on both Raw and Smackdown brand whenever required.

This was quite an interesting announcement from the WWE creative which allowed the 16-time world champion to compete on Smackdown until Summerslam. After defeating Baron Corbin at that event, he found his way back to WWE Raw on the very next night.

The Raw GM, Kurt Angle introduced him to the flagship show of the WWE, Cena returns to Raw after almost one and a half year. He had a face-off against the man who claims WWE is his own yard, Roman Reigns. This confrontation was expected at one point as these two are the current marquee players of the company.

In a recent report in Sports Illustrated, Justin Barrasso indicated the exact reason behind bringing back John Cena to Monday Night Raw. He stated that WWE wants to make more matches featuring The Cenation Leader and the emerging talents on Raw and PPVs.

So, basically, the idea is to nurture the fresh talents under the wings of Cena by pitting them against him. This, in turn, will help them to raise to their potential.
