WWE: Reason why The Undertaker was spotted in New York at Summerslam weekend

New Delhi, Aug 26: Ever since the match between The Undertaker and Roman Reigns concluded at Wrestlemania 33, the fans were forced to speculate about his career.

The Phenome has left his in-ring gears inside the ring following the match which was an indication of his retirement from in-ring competition. This was never confirmed by the WWE, officially which is why the fans always expect him making a return.

Speaking of the return leads to a rematch against Roman Reigns who claims that 'this is his yard now’ by virtue of the win at Wrestlemania. Fans do expect that he will confront the Big Dog, once again, causing another match. So, the rumours of the same fuelled up after he was spotted in the New York City prior to the Summerslam event.

Apparently, a picture of Undertaker boarding a plane to NY City from his home-state of Texas went viral. Another set of pictures surfaced which later showed his arrival to the city which was home to this year’s Summerslam. Quite expectedly, this started the speculations that he will appear at the PPV.

It was also stated that his appearance will distract Roman Reigns in the Universal Championship match. This, in turn, will set up the anticipated rematch between the two. However, this moment never happened and it remained a question as of why The Phenome arrived at Summerslam.

WWE veteran and Hall of Famer, Jerry 'The King’ Lawler has been able to give an update on this. While speaking in his podcast named “Dinner with The King”, he stated that Undertaker was undergoing some sort of scans for an upcoming game that is not related to the 2K series.

The game is slated to release at one point, next year and all the superstars from the active roster were getting the same scan prior to the PPV event. So, Undertaker might be present in New York for the same reason. Check out the comments from Lawler, here:

"I did not see or hear him mentioned at all [backstage at SummerSlam]. I dress in the talent relations room where at one point or another everybody on the card came through that room and I never saw him. But you know what? Here’s something that I just realized.

He may have been there because they were doing scans for a new game. Everybody that was on the show that night, myself included, had to be scanned. This company, it’s not the 2K people, it’s a different game that’s gonna be coming out next year. So everybody had to have their face scans and their body scans".
