Result of fifth WWE Mixed Match Challenge on Facebook

Bengaluru, February 14: The tradition of WWE hosting the Mixed Match Challenge contest on Facebook continued after last night’s WWE Smackdown Live.

Till today, we have seen four matches in this series where the money earned will be used in for charity. The winners till now are Sasha Banks-Finn Balor, The Miz-Asuka, Alexa Bliss-Braun Strowman and Jimmy Uso-Naomi.

This week we saw an interesting team from WWE Raw where the universal babyface Bayley teamed up with a super heel, Elias. The latter one’s status was in doubt after he struck by Strowman with a guitar on Raw. Despite that he showed up with his partner to take on the real-life couple of Smackdown Live, Rusev and Lana.

This was the very first time that the Rusev and Lana competed together in a televised match. To celebrate the occasion, they were seen in matching in-ring gears. They opened the show while Bayley and Elias joined them with guitars in hand. Elias’ midsection was seen taped with bandage due to the previously mentioned guitar attack.

Big E and Carmella the contestant for next week were seen watching from the backstage area as Lana and Bayley started the match. The Hugger took control with some quick moves and by giving a snap mare to Lana. She bailed to the ring corner to take a breather. Rusev was not happy with it. Lana and Bayley went back and forth for a while. Lana also wanted to use the guitar in the match.

But, Rusev prevented her from doing so and tagged himself into the contest. He dropped Elias with a kick and a splash in the corner. Despite eating a boot from Elias, he delivered another kick to Elias and tried to lock in the Accolade. But, Elias bailed and got the tag to Bayley that forced Lana into the match who ended the match in style, as follows, (courtesy WWE.com)

“Elias was forced to enter the ring to stop Rusev’s interference. This distraction allowed Lana to crawl under her opponent’s legs and yank Bayley’s leg out from under her. Bayley’s head smacked against the top rope and opened the door for Lana to pick up her first victory in WWE!”

After the match, Rusev celebrated the first victory of Lana in WWE declaring that it is officially the Ravishing Rusev Day. They gave a short interview to the host, Renee Young. Charlotte Flair and Bobby Roode appeared at the tron to cut a promo for their scheduled match, next week to end the show.
