Bengaluru, Dec 15: Roman Reigns is back to the prime championship picture after a gap of several months.
After rightfully earning the number one contender's spot, he will be featuring in the main event spot at the WWE Roadblock: End of the Line PPV.
He will challenge the reigning champion, Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship.
Now a report from allwrestlingnews.com said that WWE is nurturing the idea of making him a dual champion at the last PPV of the year.
He is already holding the United States champion. As per the source, he will also pin Kevin Owens to earn the second title in his shoulder.
This is due to make Reigns even looking stronger with the double champion tag. It will be the similar condition that Conor McGregor has become after becoming the dual champion in UFC.
Only a few superstars in the WWE history have been able to earn the accolade and he will be amongst them.
Last time, Seth Rollins have held the US title and the WWE World title at the same time at Summerslam 2015. He defeated the franchise player, John Cena in order to do so. He later dropped the US title back to Cena.
In quite a similar fashion, Reigns too will be dropping the US title in near future. Either Braun Strowman or Chris Jericho is going to be the one to take the title from him.
As of now, it's just some sort of speculation but considering WWE's intentions to book Roman Reigns stronger, it might just turn out to be true.
He is still the franchise of the Raw brand in Vince McMahon's eyes. Hence, they just may go forward with the planning without keeping in mind that they have to deal with a lot of backlash from the fans.
Since winning the US champion at Clash of Champions PPV, he has defended it only twice but has pinned the Universal champion, several times which means he is still “the guy."
Whether he wins the Universal title or not at Roadblock, he is almost guaranteed to get a big match at Wrestlemania 33.
