
Bengaluru, January 29: The 31st edition of Royal Rumble event took place last night in a big way with two prestigious battle royal matches plus, the championship matches were also in-store for the the event held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania..

WWE Raw tag team championship match (Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan vs. Sheamus and Cesaro)
Seth Rollins had to fight this match all alone after being left behind by his partner Jason Jordan. The latter one was sent through the ring post as the match started and never recovered from it. Despite offensive moves from Rollins, Sheamus and Cesaro delivered White Noise-Clothesline combo to end as the victorious team.
WWE Smackdown tag team championship match (2 out of 3 falls) (The Usos vs. Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin)
The Usos proved to be the dominant champions at the Royal Rumble by having a clean sweep over the challengers. Chad gable digested a superkick from both the champions for the first pinfall. Gable and Benjamin decided to come back in a hurried way that cost the latter one to get pinned with a roll up as the Usos retained the belts without putting in much effort.
30 Woman Royal Rumble match
Stephanie McMahon was the special commentator whereas Maria Menounos announced this historic matchup. There were multiple surprise appearances from the NXT like Ember Moon, Kairi Sane and also some yesteryear stars like Jacqueline, Molly Holly, Beth Phoenix, Lita, Kelly Kelly, Torrie Wilson all made an entry to the Rumble to please the rowdy crowd in Philly. While, The Bella Twins appeared as number 27 & 28 whereas Trish Stratus closed the fray by entering at #30.
The final four were The Bella Twins, Asuka and Sasha Banks, the Bellas threw Banks over the top rope. Thereafter, Nikki betrayed her sister by toppling her over the rope, as well. Lastly, as expected the winner, Asuka made history by eliminating Nikki to become the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble winner.

The Hurricane, Cien Almas, Adam Cole and lastly Rey Mysterio were the surprise entries into the match. Mysterio received a thunderous reception from the crowd before being eliminated by Balor who was quickly eliminated by Cena, in the closing moments. Nakamura eliminated Cena, thereafter as we were down to the final two Reigns and Nakamura. The Artist then toppled Reigns from his yard to win the 2018 Royal Rumble match.
