Rumour: A major Smackdown star to move to WWE Monday Night Raw

Bengaluru, September 4: WWE came up with the idea of two separate rosters for Raw and Smackdown last year and introduced a concept of Brand Extension Draft last year to establish these two shows as separate entities. Since it turned out to be a success, it was expected that we will witness it again this year.

So, just after Wrestlemania period, we witnessed a newer version of it under the name of Superstar Shakeup. Several superstars from both Raw and Smackdown were interchanged. Names like Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte were all involved in the shake up.

This is quite a good ploy to arrange something fresh for the superstars. Staying on one brand makes things stale whereas going to different brands mean there will be some new rivalries. It was also believed that the second edition of superstar shakeup will take place after Summerslam.

There is no official word on it till date but a few big names changed their home brands. John Cena, Jason Jordan, Bobby Roode are amongst them drafted stars. Plus, according to the promos of No Mercy PPV, another Smackdown superstar might move to Raw.

Sami Zayn is the one who is now being teased for the upcoming Raw-exclusive PPV. This is an indication that Sami might change his home brand in the coming days.

WWE has not given any update regarding the underdog from the underground being scheduled for a switch. The venue of the No Mercy PPV, Staples Center has posted an update for the upcoming event which increased the possibilities. Check out the extracts from the post, here,

“This RAW exclusive PPV brings a day of reckoning to the City of Angels. See Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Bayley, Braun Strowman, Sasha Banks, Finn Balor, The Miz, Alexa Bliss, Sami Zayn, The Hardy Boys, Cesaro and Sheamus, and many more.”

Sami previously moved to Smackdown Live during the Superstar Shakeup with the hope of getting elevated to the main event spotlight. But, no change of status has been observed of late. So, hopefully, this upcoming move to the flagship show does some good for his in-ring character.
