Dallas, Aug 30: Smackdown Live was hosted last night at Dallas, Texas, the city that hosted Wrestlemania 32.
We expected to see a segment between the Miz and Daniel Bryan after the confrontation they had last week on Talking Smack.
So, the show kicked off with The Miz walking out into the arena with his wife, Maryse. He carried on with his loud mouth until Dolph Ziggler's music hit.
He went straight to the face of the Miz that if he's a true champion then he would fight him right there. The Miz rather chose to walk out from there with the crowd chanting coward.
The tag team tournament continued thereafter with the Hype Bros advancing to the semi-final of the tournament by defeating the Vaudevillains. They connected with the Hype Ryder to pick up the victory.
AJ Styles is supposed to be the face that runs the place. Hence, he will continue dominating the blue brand. A backstage confrontation made the huge match on Smackdown between him and Apollo Crews. Styles quite significantly walked into the arena with Cena's armband. After a short resistance from the NXT rookie, Styles connected with the Phenomenal forearm for the victory.
After last week's confrontation, it was evident that we are getting a match at Backlash PPV between Randy and Bray Wyatt. Orton now has his rematch against the beast and hence will look to destroy Wyatt. However, on Smackdown, Bray Wyatt disappeared with a flash when Randy advanced towards him.
Nikki Bella was present at the commentary table for the Women's tag team match. It looked that the face team is in control but Carmella appeared out of nowhere and delivered a vicious attack on Nikki, again. Nikki was visibly injured after being thrown at the barricade. In the match, Alexa Bliss picked up the win with a roll-up.
Kane returned to the blue brand with a thunderous chokeslam to a certain Milkman. The team of Heath Slater and Rhyno advanced to the semi-final of the tag team tournament as the final team.
The main event of Smackdown saw the Lone Wolf squaring off against the champion, Dean Ambrose. AJ Styles was present at the commentary table. The match ended in a disqualification after Styles hit Corbin, accidentally. Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds on Corbin and shoved Styles off the top rope to stand tall at the end of the show.
