WWE Smackdown Live preview and schedule: August 8, 2017

Bengaluru, August 8: Last week, WWE Smackdown had come up with three major matches for the upcoming Summerslam PPV. Big names from the brand will be seen performing in these matches.

However, proper build ups are yet to be made for these bouts, that will start from tonight. Plus, a big contest has been announced for the women's division that also takes place tonight.

The second last episode of Smackdown before the Summerslam PPV will be hosted by the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Live streaming of the same will be aired on the Sony Ten 1 Network at 5.30 AM IST (August 9). The repeat telecast will be available on Sony Ten 1 Network at 5 PM and 10 PM. (August 9)

The course of the WWE Championship has drastically changed after the monumental match between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura last week.

The fans thought that the Cenation leader was the favorite to walk out as the winner. However, The Artist was the victorious one to get an opportunity for the prime title for the first time.

Although Jinder Mahal was in the arena, he did not dare to step foot inside the ring to congratulate the new contender. Starting from tonight, these two will build a championship feud to culminate a heated match at Summerslam.

Plus, he is scheduled to feature in a non-title bout against Randy Orton tonight.

As for John Cena, we have seen a physical altercation between him and Baron Corbin following last week's Smackdown Live. So, this is bound to start a new feud between them that will lead to yet another marquee match at the dual brand PPV.

In the US title picture, Shane McMahon will officiate things at Summerslam. Kevin Owens is not happy with this news and will gloat against the so-called conspiracy against him to make things between him and Styles even more intense.

As announced earlier, Naomi and Carmella lock horns in a singles match. We expect James Ellsworth to make his return on the show to save his girl from getting pinned.

Plus, Charlotte will get a match against Lana that might start yet another feud in the women's division. We should also receive an update regarding Becky Lynch's injury.

The New Day is expected to show up with an answer to The Usos who attacked them a fortnight ago. Rusev is seen taking shots to Randy Orton on the social media sites and hence one more confrontation is evident between the two to add some punch to their new rivalry.
