Bengaluru, December 13: It was the last episode of Smackdown Live before we get to the Clash of Champions PPV on the WWE Network, this Sunday. So, the final hype for the upcoming show was given with a big time main event where Shinsuke Nakamura returned after a while out of action.

Also, there was a WWE championship contract signing between the two competitors in the show that took place at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

AJ Styles kicked off Smackdown Live by delivering a promo to Jinder Mahal before the title match at Clash of Champions. The Singh Brothers appeared on the ramp to fool him by saying that they are no longer working for Jinder. But, Styles caught them red-handed and delivered a beatdown.

The advertised women's tag team match on Smackdown was replaced by a singles match between Charlotte Flair and Ruby Riott. Natalya was present at the commentary table to keep a close eye on The Queen. When the fight was brought to ringside area, Nattie hit Flair with a clothesline to make the match disqualified.

Once the contest was called off the three members of The Riott Squad delivered a massive assault to Charlotte until Naomi's music hit the arena. She came out to hit some offensive moves on the squad members to send them away. Carmella, Lana and Tamina also joined forces with Naomi to make them retreat.

Baron Corbin squared off against Dolph Ziggler in a singles match on Smackdown. Bobby Roode was present at the ringside area and make his presence felt in the match. After hearing a lot of trash talking he enter the ring and hit the Glorious DDT on Ziggler to make the match disqualified. Corbin too, received a DDT from him to end the segment.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn tried to start a YEP movement inspired by Daniel Bryan's YES movement. They failed to gather any supporter from the crowd and the superstars. This led Bryan, himself to come out and appoint himself as the second guest referee alongside Shane McMahon at the Clash of Champions tag team match.

The Bludgeon Brothers had another squash match against two of the local talents and defeat them, mercilessly. Rusev and Aiden English picked up a surprise win over the champions, The Usos after English hit the front facelock drop to Jey Usos. All the contenders were present at ringside during the contest.

Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura cut a promo prior to the main event of Smackdown where Nakamura had a match against Kevin Owens. In the middle of the match, the referee was knocked down as Daniel Bryan ran down to replace him.

Sami Zayn's distraction allowed Kevin Owens to hit the pop-up powerbomb on Nakamura to pick up the win. Owens and Zayn celebrated together to close this week's Smackdown.
