Bengaluru, February 28: Last night we saw the penultimate episode of Smackdown Live before the Fastlane PPV in which the franchise player returned to the Blue brand.

Plus, two big matches were announced for the show from Hollywood, hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The return of John Cena kicked off this week's episode of Smackdown with the hope of Wrestlemania on his mind. So, he wished to get included in the WWE Championship match at Fastlane.

But, Daniel Bryan insisted Cena will have to earn the opportunity to be added to the match and put him in a match against AJ Styles with a stipulation that if Cena won he would get an opportunity for the WWE title at Fastlane.

Later, in the opening contest, Sami Zayn locked horns in a singles match with Baron Corbin. Kevin Owens joined the announce table to help his friend Zayn and to distract Corbin. But, the Lone Wolf overcame the trouble and was able to deliver the End of Days on Zayn to pick up the win. After the match, Dolph Ziggler came down to the ring to hit a Zig-zag on Corbin.





Later on the show, Ruby Riott issued a challenge which was accepted by Naomi. Riott Squad were at Riott's corner while Charlotte and Becky Lynch were there on Naomi's corner. The former women's champion was pushed into the ring turnbuckle by Riott who followed that with a Riott Kick to earn a big win for the heels.





Bobby Roode had a backstage confrontation with Randy Orton about their championship match at Fastlane. Roode alluded that Orton has a problem with him for the last couple of weeks which he will end at the Fastlane PPV. Orton then backfired saying that the only championship that he could not win in his 16-year of career span is the US title which he should capture at the upcoming PPV.





The New Day had an entertaining segment with The Usos for their upcoming tag team championship match at Fastlane.

Dolph Ziggler also cut a promo talking about winning the WWE title at the same event.

Aiden English had a match with Shinsuke Nakamura with the crowd chanting for Rusev Day, all the way. But, the Artist managed to pick up the win by connecting with the Kinshasa.

After the match, Nakamura was confronted by John Cena who was headed for his match against AJ Styles. The two veterans delivered a classic affair to the delight of the crowd.

In the end, it was Cena who countered the Calf Crusher to convert it into an AA for the win. After the match, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler came down to the ring to start a brawl. It was Cena who ended the show by hitting another AA to the show-off to end the show.
