WWE Smackdown Live results with video highlights: January 30, 2018

Bengaluru, January 31: In last night's episode of Smackdown Live, we saw fallouts from the Royal Rumble PPV and started the build up to the beginning phase of Wrestlemania season. Plus, we also saw the preparations start for the final stop - Fastlane - before the biggest event of the year.

The show opened with the Royal Rumble match winner, Shinsuke Nakamura as the crowd gave him a big reception. While speaking about Wrestlemania, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn interrupted him stating that they were robbed of the WWE Championship. AJ Styles showed up to support Nakamura which created a brawl as Styles and Nakamura stood tall to end the opening segment.

A fatal-4-way match took place to decide the new number one contender for the United States Championship. Rusev, Jinder Mahal, Zack Ryder and Kofi Kingston competed in it under the no-DQ rule. Ryder was taken out of the equation by Rusev with a big kick after he executed a Rough Ryder on Jinder. Thereafter, Rusev locked in the Accolade on Kofi to make him tap out and win the contest.



A backstage segment took place in Shane McMahon’s office on Smackdown that saw a confrontation between Tye Dillinger and Baron Corbin. Following this, the commissioner booked a match between the two of them. Corbin picked up yet another dominant win against Dillinger. He connected with a chokeslam backbreaker following with the End of Days for the victory.





The Usos were celebrating their victory from Royal Rumble. During their exit, they were interrupted by the Bludgeon Brothers who were out to face two local competitors. The behemoths squashed these two in to continue their momentum on Smackdown Live. Breezango was defeated in another tag team contest at the hands of Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable.





Charlotte Flair was addressing the incidents from Royal Rumble PPV when Ruby Riott arrived with her squad to gang up on the champion. Charlotte tried to fight back but fell victim to the number-games. With Charlotte being down, Carmella ran down to cash-in her Money in the Bank briefcase. But, she hit the referee, accidentally. In the meantime, the champion was up on her feet not letting Carmella to cash-in.





In the main event of Smackdown Live, Owens and Zayn teamed up against the team of Styles and Nakamura. In a surprising incident, a fallout broke out between Owens and Zayn after which the latter one left Owens alone inside the ring. This allowed Nakamura to execute a big kick following with Kinshasa to pick up an easy win. Styles and Nakamura celebrated to end this week’s Smackdown Live.
