Mike Kanellis got his debut match on Smackdown Live with Maria present in his corner. He locked horns with Sami Zayn who was about to hit his finishing maneuver for the win. But, Maria provided the distraction allowing Mike to deliver a Samoan Driver for the victory.

In the main event, we got to see the dream team of AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. They took on Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin who are their Battleground opponents, respectively. Corbin tried to deliver yet another attack on Nakamura prior to the match but failed.
