WWE Smackdown Live results with video highlights: March 8

Indiana, March 8: It was yet another edition of Smackdown Live with a never-before-seen main event between Randy Orton and AJ Styles to determine the number one contender spot.

Plus, John Cena teamed up with Nikki Bella for the very first time ever on live television. Check out the results from the show that took place at the Banker Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Shane McMahon kicked off the show to address the controversy surrounding the WWE championship.

Daniel Bryan joined him in the ring to officially announce the first-time ever main event in the WWE in which Randy Orton will take on AJ Styles to determine the number one contender and the main eventer of Wrestlemania.

The mixed tag team match between Cena-Nikki Bella and Carmella-Ellsworth followed after this segment. The Miz created a distraction as soon as the match started to take Carmella the upper hand.

However, Nikki tagged in Cena and the two of them performed their pendant moves to end the match, quickly.

After the match, the celebration was cut short after Miz and Maryse attacked them from behind. They cut a heel promo to end the segment.

Dean Ambrose headed to the ring to put Curt Hawkins down who was scheduled for a rematch from last week.

He called out Baron Corbin who once again showed up on the screen. The Lunatic Fringe ran into the locker room area to find Corbin but got attacked from the back. The lone Wolf then delivered a brutal assault on him.

Alexa Bliss was out to cut a heel promo with Mickie James but got interrupted by Becky Lynch and Natalya.

Daniel Bryan then set up a tag team match between Becky-Nattie and Mickie-Alexa. He also added that at Wrestlemania, Bliss has to defend her title against everyone from the Smackdown roster.

In the tag match, Natalya betrayed her partner, Becky Lynch by hitting her with a German suplex. Bliss hooked the leg and got the pinfall.

After the match, Mickie James turned on Bliss and hit her with a kick to deliver a bold statement.

The main event of Smackdown saw Styles and Orton locking horns in a classic matchup. During the end, Styles went for the Phenomenal Forearm but Orton ducked it and connected with the RKO to become the number one contender for the WWE championship.
