WWE Smackdown Live results with video highlights: September 5, 2017

Bengaluru, September 6: WWE Smackdown was hyped with a dream main event between Randy Orton and Nakamura to have a new number one contender for the WWE Championship. Another high profile match between Natalya and Carmella was also scheduled for the show.

Check out the results from last night that was hosted by the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The show started with James Ellsworth introducing Carmella for her scheduled match against Natalya. However, Kevin Owens music hit the arena who then came out to tell that he will be the special guest referee for the match but Shane McMahon came down to stop Owens which lead to a confrontation between the two.

At one point, Owens started blasting McMahon by berating his family, which led the Smackdown commissioner to attack Owens. The attack continued until the officials came down to the ring to stop Shane and separate the pair.

An angry Owens later faced off Daniel Bryan at the backstage area telling that he will file a lawsuit against Shane and ruin his life and also said he will stick to a mission of destroying Smackdown Live from now onwards.





Back inside the ring, the match between Natalya and Carmella kicked off. The latter was in control till Ellsworth decided to throw the Money in the Bank briefcase causing a distraction which allowed Nattie to roll up Carmella and pick up the win. An irate Carmella decided to disassociate with Ellsworth.





Baron Corbin had a match with Tye Dillinger after an altercation took place between them in last week's episode. AJ Styles was present at ringside as he joined the commentaors to call the match. Corbin defeated Dillinger by hitting the End of Days. After the match, Styles handed yet another US title shot to Tye next week.





Daniel Bryan addressed the actions of the Smackdown commissioner from earlier in the night. He uttered that, what Shane did was wrong and as a repercussion, he received a call from none other than Vince McMahon and on his orders, Shane will be indefinitely suspended from his duties as the Smackdown commissioner.



Aiden English defeated Sami Zayn in a quick match yet again. Dolph Ziggler showed up with his usual theme song on Smackdown and returned to backstage only to come out to the music of John Cena, Macho man and Naomi to debut a new gimmick. Finally, he finished off by cutting a teaser.





Shinsuke Nakamura won the main event of Smackdown against Randy Orton. He countered an RKO and converted it into a Kinshasa to become the number one contender for WWE Championship. The show ended with a blockbuster news of Vince McMahon returning to Smackdown Live next week.
