The episode of SmackDown began with an engaging segment where Wade Barrett made a note of Joe Tessitore's absence and passed the baton to Vic Joseph, who introduced a recap of the previous week's events. This set the stage for Cody Rhodes's entrance, marking the start of the in-arena activities.

Rhodes, dubbed "The American Nightmare," energized the audience by discussing potential WrestleMania opponents, turning the spotlight onto Solo Sikoa before Drew McIntyre's interruption.

The tension escalated when Jacob Fatu expressed his intention to reclaim the title for his family, only to be unsettled by Sikoa's backstage arrival, as witnessed on the big screen. Fatu's confrontation with Rhodes over who would confront Solo first added a layer of intrigue.

WrestleMania Plans and Family Loyalties

The narrative then shifted to a backstage drama involving Fatu and Tama Tonga discovering Sikoa's intention to take a break after feeling he had let the family down. Sikoa's declaration of love was met with indifference, highlighting familial tensions. This subplot intertwined with Rhodes's earlier ring appearance, suggesting a complex web of alliances and rivalries.

In a change of pace, the show spotlighted the women's division with Trish Stratus making an appearance in the crowd before Naomi and Green battled in a Chamber qualifying match.

Naomi, cheered on by Bianca Belair, overcame distractions from Piper Niven to secure a victory against Green, demonstrating resilience and athleticism. Their encounter, marked by a series of dynamic moves and near-falls, showcased their growing in-ring chemistry and mutual respect.

Tag Team Dynamics and Title Ambitions

Attention then turned to the tag team scene with Los Garzas facing off against The Motor City Machine Guns in a match that lived up to expectations. Despite a spirited effort from Angel and Berto, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley emerged victorious, signaling their intentions to chase the titles.

The episode also featured a confrontation between Shinsuke Nakamura and LA Knight, interrupted by The Miz, leading to a verbally charged segment that transitioned into a match.

Despite the prolonged dialogue, the subsequent match captured the audience's interest, especially when Knight secured a win, setting the stage for a future feud with Nakamura over the U.S. title.

A Mix of Matches and Personal Challenges

R-Truth's backstage interaction with Carmelo Hayes escalated into a match, showcasing Hayes's athleticism with a springboard clothesline and a decisive leg drop from the top rope. Although brief, this encounter highlighted Truth's enduring in-ring capability.

In the women's division, Tiffany defended her title against Jax in a match that portrayed her as a formidable underdog. The bout, marred by moments of miscommunication, nonetheless featured high-impact moves and a disqualification caused by Candice LeRae's interference. The aftermath saw Charlotte Flair challenge Tiffany for WrestleMania, adding another layer to the narrative.

The main event, a triple threat match involving Fatu, Strowman, and Priest for a spot in the Elimination Chamber, delivered an action-packed climax. The bout culminated with Priest securing a victory, despite the chaos caused by external interference. This not only set up potential storylines but also highlighted the competitive spirit of the participants.

The episode concluded with a handshake between Rhodes and Priest, signifying respect amidst the tumultuous events. This SmackDown episode, filled with high stakes, personal vendettas, and strategic alliances, underscored the intricate storytelling and athletic prowess that define the brand.
