WWE SmackDown: Roman Reigns RKO-ed after contract signing denial

WWE SmackDown's latest edition was all about the contract signing for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match set for Royal Rumble. One particular challenger for the title shot opportunity stood tall in the end to send a message to the champion.

SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis was in the ring for the contract signing to kick things off on the show and he introduced the challengers AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton and they signed the contract one by one.

Paul Heyman then came out and said that Roman Reigns would not be signing the contract. Nick Aldis stated that if Roman doesn't put his sign on it, a triple threat will occur at the Royal Rumble for the vacant championship.

Heyman asked Aldis that Reigns should be defending the title in a one-on-one match and not in a fatal-4-way capacity. LA Knight agreed to the one-on-one idea as he would be the only challenger after The Bloodline scre*ed him at Crown Jewel.

Eventually, a brawl broke out between Styles and LA on the entrance ramp. WWE officials separated them while Orton grabbed Heyman's tie and warned him about hurting Solo Sikoa, later the night and re-introducing Reigns to the RKO.

In the main event of SmackDown, Randy Orton defeated Solo Sikoa in a singles encounter. Jimmy Uso came out to distract at ringside but LA attacked him from behind. Styles also joined him as Orton RKO-ed Sikoa for the win.

After the match, the brawl continued between LA, Styles, and Orton. The latter cleared the ring by delivering RKOs on both his opponents but his moment was quickly ruined by a blindsided attack by Roman Reigns.

The champion finally signed the contract after putting down Orton with a Superman Punch. He went for his pendant Spear but Orton countered it with an RKO amid huge cheers from the crowd. The Viper stood tall to end things on SmackDown.
