WWE SmackDown: Royal Rumble Contract Signing & Title Match Set For January 19 Edition

Less than two weeks away from his next title defence, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will be back on SmackDown, next week to have a massive segment with not one but three of his current rivals.

At the 2024 Royal Rumble WWE Premium Live Event, Roman Reigns, LA Knight, AJ Styles, and Randy Orton will challenge Roman Reigns in a Fatal-4-Way with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship hanging in the balance.

Now, all these four superstars will gather in the same ring, next week on SmackDown for the contract signing to make their title match, further official. Given previous such occasions, this segment is likely to gain tons of viewership.

Things will become even more intense for the contract signing as Roman Reigns must be fuming after what transpired on the latest episode of SmackDown as his rivals worked as cohorts to take out The Bloodline.

In the main event of the January 12 episode, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight defeated The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso) in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. Orton pinned Jimmy after hitting him with an RKO.

Solo tried to attack Orton after the match but Styles hit him with a Phenomenal Forearm on Solo while LA hit Solo with the BFT. Orton then hit him with an RKO before the babyface trio ended the show after triple powerbomb-ing Solo through the announce table.

Apart from the contract signing, a title match was officially announced where the new Women's Tag Team Champions will go through their first title defense against the mysterious duo of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.

Also, for the first time in 2024, United States Champion Logan Paul will appear on TV to have a confrontation with his Royal Rumble opponent Kevin Owens. At a glance, the match card for the January 19 SmackDown episode stands as follows:
