WWE SmackDown: Update on The Bloodline taking a breather from Friday Night show

Bengaluru, August 14: It's been The Bloodline all the way when it comes to running things on WWE SmackDown for the past several years. With their speculated upcoming absence, WWE might just want to lessen its dependence on the faction and test some new names.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and Solo Sikoa alongside Jimmy and Jey Uso were present in the main event segment of the post-SummerSlam edition of SmackDown, this past Friday Night where Jimmy offered his theory on turning his back on Jey.

A displeased Jey then decided to run through everyone with Superkicks and Spears before declaring that he's "out of The Bloodline, out of SmackDown, and out of the WWE" to leave everyone watching the show in shock.

Since then Jey has been moved from the active WWE SmackDown roster to the WWE alumni page to make people believe that he's legit done with the WWE. One can find him among other WWE alumni Jessi Kamea and Jillian Hall.

In an update from PWInsider, the whole Bloodline faction has now been taken off this week's episode of WWE SmackDown. The Usos nor Solo Sikoa won't be at the taping while Roman Reigns was never advertised for the show.

"The word backstage at SmackDown was that neither The Usos nor Solo Sikoa will be in Toronto, so unless they pre-taped a segment, don't expect a lot of storyline being furthered for the Bloodline. Roman Reigns was never slated."

With Roman Reigns not performing at the two upcoming premium live events in the WWE, Payback in September and Fastlane in October, it's safe to say that he's not going to make regular appearances on SmackDown, either.

With The Bloodline taken off WWE television, it will open the door for other storylines to get attention in the WWE. For a long time, the Samoan faction was consuming a huge amount of TV time on a weekly basis.

BWE posted behind their private Twitter account and stated that "with Bloodline taking a breather. It's a big test for a lot of superstars to step up." Names like LA Knight and Grayson Waller could finally get to grab that proverbial brass ring by stepping up.

As for this week's SmackDown, WWE has Hall of Famer Edge booked for the main event match against Sheamus in a first-time-ever instance. Another WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio will appear in a Grayson Waller Effect talk show as the new United States Champion.
