Bengaluru, December 7: Earlier this week, WWE came up with some big announcements on their official website to add hype to the Clash of Champions PPV.

The WWE Championship match was already confirmed for the show whereas the other title matches were added to finalize a stacked card for the PPV event.

This obviously included the Smackdown women's championship as well. It was confirmed that Charlotte Flair will defend her title against the bitter-rival Natalya as the challenger was due a rematch for a while now.

The first rematch took place on Smackdown after Survivor Series but got disqualified due to the interference of The Riott Squad. So, another rematch was confirmed for the Smackdown-exclusive event. But, the women's division was not happy with the endless rivalry between these two.

So, they had their say to the general manager of Smackdown Live, Daniel Bryan about it which made the frustrated GM make a huge change to the contest. Bryan changed the contest to a Lumberjack match which means each of the members of the women's division would be present at ringside.

Check out the confirmation from WWE.com,

“As if the situation was not volatile enough, SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan decided to make the highly-anticipated title rematch into a Lumberjack Match, opening the door for the likes of The Riott Squad, Carmella, Lana and Tamina to play a crucial role in the pay-per-view equation.

Don’t miss all the action at WWE Clash of Champions, Sunday, Dec. 17, at 8 ET/5 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”

It will also ensure that the outcome of the match will be decided by these ladies since the match has now become a no disqualification one. Also, the team comprising Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan will definitely try to lay their hands on the competitors of the match to get into the title picture.

Charlotte and Natalya have been each one's nemesis for the better part of their WWE career. Ever since Summerslam season passed by, these two continued their rivalry on the blue brand which might have made things repetitive for the audience. Hence, this match at Clash of Champions should be the last between them for now.
