WWE has started a tournament to crown the inaugural women's United States Champion from this week's episode of SmackDown. The announced bracket for the tourney has twelve names from the Raw and SmackDown rosters.
Before the commencement of the November 15 episode of SmackDown, WWE posted a video with General Manager Nick Aldis revealing the news that multiple triple threat matches will take place on Raw and SmackDown as part of the tournament.

Bayley defeated B-Fab and Candice LeRae in a Triple Threat Match to advance to the next round of the Women's United States Championship Tournament on last night's SmackDown after pinning B-Fab with a rollup as she was focused with LeRae.
The Women's United States Championship tournament first-round matches will continue on next week's SmackDown with the match lineup being Bianca Belair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Blair Davenport. One such match should also be there on next week's Raw.
Last week, Aldis unveiled the new Women's United States title belt, which is set to serve as a mid-card championship for the women's division. Jade Cargill vs. Michin vs. Piper Niven, and Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Elektra Lopez are the remaining match lineups of the tournament.
In more news from SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura made his anticipated WWE television return by attacking LA Knight which possibly started a fresh feud between the two superstars over the United States Championship.
The return took place after Knight had just successfully defended the United States title against Berto in an open challenge match. Nakamura appeared out of nowhere wearing a face-paint and Undertaker-esque costumes.
Nakamura laid out Knight with the Kinshasa finisher to finish the segment. This marked his first appearance on WWE television since April when he was moved back to SmackDown as part of the 2024 WWE Draft.
Aside from WWE storylines, Nakamura worked in WWE house shows over the summer around the United States, Japan, and Europe. Last month, he failed to win the US title in one such live event match against Knight.
