WWE SmackDown: WrestleMania XL Face-Off & More Set For March 22 Episode

The much-anticipated rematch between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will go down at WrestleMania XL for the WWE Championship and just days away from the bout becoming a reality, the two mega forces in the company will come face-to-face on WWE SmackDown.

This week on the episodic WWE show on Friday Night, none of the above-mentioned duo was present. But rather, The Bloodline's latest member, The Rock debuted a new version of his old Hollywood theme song from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.

The People's Champion then delivered a concert dedicated to Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, his opponents at WrestleMania 40, and even the fans started booing Cody and Seth. It was a stern message as to what Seth and Cody's situation would be at the upcoming PLE.

Roman Reigns and The Rock will team up to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins of WrestleMania 40 in a match which expectedly is expected to be the main event for Night One.

But before the biggest tag team match of all time goes down at the Show of Shows, the confirmed confrontation between The Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare should amp things up on the March 22 episode of SmackDown.

Also on this week's SmackDown, Santos Escobar faced Dragon Lee in a singles match which turned into a 3-on-1 handicap match after Angel and Humberto got involved. Carlito did come out to Lee's aid but the numbers' advantage was still in the heel side.

After Lee was defeated, Rey Mysterio then made an appearance and challenged Escobar to a match on SmackDown. Many assumed this match to be on the WrestleMania card but this match has since been confirmed for next week's episode.

A huge tag team match has also been booked where the recently returning AOP members Akam and Rezar will clash against The Street Profits - Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins to continue the feud between their leaders, Karrion Kross and Bobby Lashley.

Also, The OC members - Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson will battle against Grayson Waller and Austin Theory as they will determine one of the five teams that will compete in the six-pack ladder match for the Undisputed WWE tag team titles at WrestleMania 40.
