WWE spoiler: No title change is expected at the Battleground PPV

The biggest party of the summer will be hosted by the WWE, next month for which the WWE plans for no title to change hands at the Battleground PPV.

Bengaluru, July 22: The biggest party of the summer will be hosted by the WWE, next month. But, before that, this Sunday, we will witness the last big event prior to that. Smackdown will host the Battleground PPV in Philadelphia which is the last stop before Summerslam.

The match card for the night is already a packed one with a blockbuster main event. The Punjabi Prison will make its return after a decade. Jinder Mahal will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton inside the dangerous structure.

There will also be two more title matches, AJ Styles will defend his US title against Kevin Owens after he won it at the MSG live event. The New Day will get a rematch from last PPV for the tag team titles against the champion, the Usos.

According to cagesideseats.com, we should not expect any title to change hands during these three matches at Battleground. In general, WWE does not intend to make any big change in the filler PPVs like this prior to the dual brand events.

The scenarios for each of those championship matches suggest the same, as well. Jinder Mahal has been proven a path-breaking champion for the company ever since he captured the title at Backlash. Orton is not going to be the one to dethrone him becoming a record 14-time champion.

In the US title picture, AJ Styles has just won the title and there's no way that he is going to lose it this early. WWE has bigger plans with the phenomenal one for the future. So, he will walk out with the title in hand, for sure.

The Usos have proven to be the dominant champions as well. There's a slight chance that the New Day might get the win in this match. But, they will have to wait a little bit more to pick up the titles. Perhaps, Summerslam is going to witness their coronation.

Lastly, the Smackdown Women's championship will not be defended at Battleground as we will witness a number one contender's match instead. Unless a sudden Money in the Bank cash-in takes place, no change will occur, here, as well.
