WWE SummerSlam 2024 Results, Recap & Highlights: Roman Reigns Returns as Four Titles Change Hands

The 2024 edition of WWE SummerSlam premium live event went down last night, marking the 37th overall outing for the annual show from the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The main PLE show started with WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H welcoming the fans.

Jelly Roll came out, next to perform his song "Liar" before we headed to the main card of the night that has seven matches on it. Four of them produced new champions to make it a night to remember, forever. Check out the recap and results from SummerSlam:

- WWE Women's World Championship Match: Liv Morgan (c) defeated Rhea Ripley to retain her title in the opening contest of SummerSlam 2024. In a storyline from the match, Rhea dislocated her shoulder and popped it right back in by sending herself into the commentary table.

Morgan took advantage of the situation and dropkick-ed Rhea into Dominik who further distracted the referee, allowing Liv to hit her Ob-Livion finisher on Rhea on a steel chair for the pin to win. Dom kissed Liv after the match.

- WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Bron Breakker defeated Sami Zayn (c) to become the new champion. Going for a Helluva Kick, Breakker caught him with two back-to-back spears to get the pin-fall win. Stephanie McMahon was shown at ringside after this match.

- WWE United States Championship Match: LA Knight defeated Logan Paul (c) to become the new champion. Paul was given the brass knuckles by his crew member but LA dodged a punch and delivered The BFT for the win.

- WWE Women's Championship Match: The 2024 Queen of the Ring winner Nia Jax defeated Bayley (c) to become the new Women's Champion at SummerSlam. At one point in the match, both the participants were down when Tiffany Stratton came out.

With a referee by her side, Tiffany wanted to cash in Money in the Bank contract but Bayley clocked her on the apron. Jax caught her on the apron and delivered two An-Nia-Lators to secure the win.

- Drew McIntyre defeated CM Punk with Seth Rollins serving as the Special Guest Referee. Rollins was taken out in a spot where Punk was sent into him by Drew and hence he wasn't there to make the count after Punk hit a GTS on Drew.

Punk wasn't happy with Seth and they began arguing. Punk hit Rollins with the GTS and took his bracelet back as Drew low-blowed him from behind before connecting with the Claymore Kick to pick up the pin-fall win.

- WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: The 2024 King of the Ring winner Gunther defeated Damian Priest (c) to become the new world champion from Raw. After delivering the South of Heaven Chokeslam, Priest went for the cover, but Finn Balor put Gunther's leg on the bottom rope.

A furious Priest went after Balor after the betrayal but Gunther stopped him from behind and locked in the Sleeper Hold. Priest got out of it and went after Balor, again. Gunther powerbomb-ed Priest and applied the Sleeper Hold for the win.

- The Bloodline Rules Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) defeated Solo Sikoa in the main event of SummerSlam 2024 in a chaotic encounter. Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa attacked Cody but Randy Orton and Kevin Owens neutralized them.

Jacob Fatu interfered and put Cody through a table with a splash but Cody still kicked out of a pin attempt. Cody couldn't move from the beating that he took in the match. This was when Roman Reigns' music hit the stadium.

The Tribal Chief came out with a new theme song and went right after Solo with a Superman Punch followed by a Spear. Roman gave the nod to Cody before leaving as Cody hit the Cross Rhodes on Solo for the pin-fall win.
