WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023, scheduled to take place on Friday (September 8) at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium (Gachibowli Indoor Stadium) in Hyderabad, India, is set to miss a top name from the women's division.

Rhea Ripley, Natalya and Becky Lynch were advertised to make an appearance with the one superstar yet to receive an opponent for the WWE India event. However, just days ahead of the event, the former champion across the SmackDown and Raw brands has revealed she will not be attending the show.

Becky Lynch, who was among the names announced to appear at WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023, is the former champion that will miss the big event in India this Friday. She was yet to receive an opponent for the event.

Why is Becky Lynch not appearing in the WWE India event?

Lynch revealed that she was unable to board her Qatar Airways flight because of a small tear in her passport and apologised to the fans in India on her social media platform.

"I'm sorry to all the fans in Hyderabad, India. I was so excited to perform for you - but as there was a tiny tear in my passport l have not been allowed to board my flight. [pensive face emoji] @qatarairways," Lynch, originally known as Rebecca Quinn, wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

WWE had never announced an opponent for Lynch, but this would have been her first visit and her in-ring debut in India had she made the trip. While Lynch is off the plans for WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023, fans can still expect the likes of Rhea Ripley, Natalya among others in action.

Also, John Cena will wrestle in the country for the first time in his WWE career. The former multi-time champion is set to pair with current World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins to take on an Indian-origin tandem in a tag team match. The WWE Superstar Spectacle Match card as it stands:

1. Tag Team Match: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Indus Sher (Sanga and Veer Mahaan) (with Jinder Mahal)

2. WWE Women's World Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Natalya

3. Tag Team Match: John Cena and Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Imperium (Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser) Superstars Confirmed For WWE India Event

Meanwhile, the likes of Drew McIntyre, Matt Riddle, Shanky and Bron Breakker have also been advertised to make an appearance at the event. So, there is a chance these superstars also will be in action in Hyderabad.
