Last year, CM Punk returned to WWE programming at the Survivor Series premium live event which many believe to be perhaps the greatest return ever in the history of professional wrestling.
A year removed from that monumental occasion, the former WWE Champion could be gearing up for a championship match at the final PLE of the year in around two months if he could defeat Drew McIntyre again.

Coming off his first singles TV win in the WWE in a decade at Bash in Berlin against McIntyre, Punk was gunning for a future world championship match opportunity. But an attack by his adversary sent him to hospital on last week's Raw.
This would inevitably set up Punk vs. McIntyre III in the final match of their trilogy at Bad Blood, next month, possibly inside the Hell in a Cell structure. Punk is reportedly set to win the bout to move into the title picture.
According to a report from PWInsider, there have been discussions behind the scenes in WWE about a potential showdown between CM Punk and WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER at Survivor Series 2024 with the title hanging in the balance.
If these talks come to fruition then it would set the stage for a fresh matchup from on the Raw roster. For the time being, GUNTHER is booked in a feud with Sami Zayn that should set up his next title defense.
WWE Survivor Series 2024 is scheduled to take place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Saturday, November 30 and it will be the last premium live event for this calendar year.
In the latest, GUNTHER has successfully retained at Bash in Berlin against Randy Orton in what marked the first title defense of his ongoing reign that started at SummerSlam, last month by defeating Damian Priest.
As for Punk, he's returned to WWE in-ring competition at Royal Rumble where he suffered a torn tricep to get sidelined for months. The injury was caused by McIntyre which organically pushed the two into a feud.
