WWE: Tensions between John Cena and WWE over return date

The speculation suggests that Cena’s hiatus from the company forced WWE to book Undertaker and Goldberg for more dates in the future.

Bengaluru, Dec 7: As reported earlier, John Cena is away from the WWE due to his commitment outside the WWE. He is busy filming the American Grit, the second season on the Fox Network.

This is for the second consecutive year, that John Cena has missed the Survivor Series PPV for the same reason.

Now that his return to the WWE is coming ahead, the rumour mill suggests that there's a rift going on between the franchise player and WWE with his actual return schedule. The speculation suggests that Cena's hiatus from the company forced WWE to book Undertaker and Goldberg for more dates in the future.

These dates are going to conflict with Cena upon his return. In fact, since both of these WWE veterans will feature on WWE TV when next year begins, WWE is looking to postpone Cena's TV appearance. The Cenation leader is not at all happy with this decision since he is already missing the WWE Universe, badly.

A report from Inquisitr.com posted the following regarding the issue:

“According to a new report (from Pro Wrestling Unlimited), there is a belief that John Cena could be at odds with WWE officials, right now, due in part to the WWE returns of Bill Goldberg and The Undertaker in his absence. It's being said that The Undertaker's early return to WWE television and increased schedule over the next few months was a result of Cena's return date possibly being pushed back due to something happening between Cena and WWE."

Cena has been part of the main event scenario on Smackdown Live since the WWE Draft with only a handful of options remaining left in the blue brand. During his absence, Styles and Ambrose featured in the title picture but since this feud is already stretched, WWE had no choice but to call on the Deadman to bring some fresh storyline.

Cena was not aware of these call ups like Goldberg or the Undertaker and their future bookings. This has already opened up more options on the blue brand since Cena is no more the automatic choice. Survivor Series onwards WWE is relying more on names like Goldberg, Brock Lesnar or the Undertaker.

The former world champion might be concerned that his absence might cost his match with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33, as well. Randy Orton might replace him at the grandest stage. This situation will not be clarified until Cena makes televised return. December 26 will mark his house show return at the Madison Square Garden.
