New Delhi, Dec 30: The year 2016 is almost in the history books and WWE is preparing big time for the next year. The Royal Rumble PPV is going to be one of the biggest in its history.
Meanwhile, apart from the prestigious rumble event, WWE is looking to bring some bigger names to make a variation in the main event picture.
Plus, the rumour mill is suggesting something big with the beast.
Here are this week's top 5 rumours at this time:
Brock Lesnar to leave WWE in future
Earlier this year, Brock Lesnar returned to the octagon for one-off MMA fight taking his record to 6-3. However, with his drug test samples coming out positive, that victory is wiped out and the beast is not happy with it, at all.
So, he decided to go back to the MMA to prove everyone wrong for one last time. If this is true then he might not renew his contract with WWE after 2017 and will go back to UFC.
WWE Interested to bring Lashley back
To revamp the main event pictures altogether, WWE is willing to bring some bigger names and Lashley is one of them.
The rumour mill suggests that WWE is approaching a number of TNA talents for the past few weeks for future enrolment.
Eli Drake is another name with whom WWE is interested in quite sometimes. Lashley is a constant main eventer guy for the TNA brand and it's still not clear if he is ready to leave the franchise or not.
Roman Reigns is bound for a big push
As indicated on the last episode of Raw in 2016, Reigns will be getting another big push ahead of the Wrestlemania season. He will come out of the Royal Rumble PPV as the new Universal champion.
The winner of the last man standing match between Zayn and Strowman is the supposed next contender for him. Quite expectedly, Reigns might get Strowman as his next opponent while defending the championship. This might set up the match between the two of them at Wrestlemania.
Future of the Slammy awards
Removal of the Slammy awards from the WWE programming has shaken the rumour mill, big time. WWE is not hesitating to make some big changes in their programming and it was a certain indication.
Although we have not seen Slammy in 2016, it is rumored to take place as a WWE Network special event in 2017. Pre-Wrestlemania season is the most likely slot for the awards to take place.
Bayley to break Charlotte's PPV streak
Charlotte's PPV streak will be playing a major role in her career, from now onwards. Even the behemoths of the WWE's male locker room does not possess such an incredible streak.
As per the speculations, the streak will be continuing until Wrestlemania and Bayley will be given a bigger chip on her shoulder to break it.
On the grandest stage of them all, the two members from NXT's four horsewomen will collide for the Raw Women's championship in which the hugger is supposed to get her first Women's title.
