Bengaluru, Dec 15: WWE's annual tradition to pay tribute to the soldier continued with 2016 edition of the Tribute to the Troops event.
Every year, WWE arranges a special event for the soldiers and their family as per their holiday tradition and this year it was not any exception. The event was taped from the Verizon center in Washington, DC.
The night opened up with Roman reigns and Big Cass giving a speech to the soldiers. But, they got interrupted by the Universal champion, Kevin Owens and Rusev.
After having a heated confrontation, Raw GM, Mick Foley arrived to arrange the main event match between them, later the night.
The first match was contested in a fatal-4-way capacity among four tag teams to determine the number one contender for the Raw tag team titles.
Sheamus-Cesaro picked up the win to emerge as the true contenders for the title. They will challenge the New Day for their titles at Roadblock PPV.
Apollo Crews defeated the Miz in a nontitle match. This might take him to the IC title picture in the near future. The comedian, Gabriel Iglesias was in his corner.
A huge six man tag team match was held between the American Alpha & Dolph Ziggler vs. The Wyatt Family. The babyfaces picked the victory.
Bayley squared off against Dana Brooke in a match. Prior to the match, they had a serious confrontation backstage with Charlotte by Dana's side.
As a result, Charlotte tried to interfere in the match. But, Bayley shoved off the Queen and pinned her protege.
The Cruiserweights were also in action as the face team of Rich Swann, TJ Perkins, and Jack Gallagher defeated the heel team of Brian Kendrick, Anthony Nese, and Drew Gulak.
Prior to the main event of the night, The Shield had a brief reunion while they confronted The New Day and the former Club members. They received a massive pop from the crowd.
In the main event, Reigns & Big Cass defeated the team of KO & Rusev. In the process, Enzo-Cass got their redemption on the Bulgarian Brute. The babyfaces stood tall to end the show.
