WWE and UFC, part of TKO Group Holdings, on Monday (April 22) night announced that NXT Battleground will emanate from UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Sunday, June 9.
This marks the first-ever WWE event to be hosted at the state-of-the-art, 130,000-square foot event and production facility, which is home to UFC Fight Night events, Dana White's Contender Series and more.

"We are always exploring new frontiers to showcase NXT and we are excited to bring Battleground to this world-class event and production facility in partnership with UFC," said WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels.
Following the announcement of the NXT Battleground moving to the Apex, another WWE executive Paul Levesque, known as Triple H, also commented on the huge news and thanked UFC and it's president Dana White for making this happen.
"The state-of-the-art UFC Apex has been home to so many incredible events... and for the first time ever, on June 9, WWE becomes part of that. Huge thanks to UFC and Dana White for their partnership in bringing NXT Battleground to Vegas," Triple H wrote on X.
UFC Apex, a 1000 seat venue, was opened in 2019 and was renovated in 2022. The venue owned by WWE & UFC's parent company TKO has hosted several UFC events since the COVID-enforced closed door shows.
The mixed martial arts brand has held numerous cards for ESPN at the Apex since it opened, and during the pandemic ran several PPVs from the Vegas venue. Now it will host its first WWE shows since the merger with UFC under TKO.
With more than a month left for the event, the NXT brand will build for Battleground event, starting this week. Battleground, founded as a main roster pay-per-view in 2013, has been held by NXT since the revival of the event last year in 2023.
