The later replied him back starting a social media battle. Keeping in mind that how much hatred was there between these two behemoths of the Hollywood industry, WWE once thought to arrange a fight at Wrestlemania 33. This was also supposed to be a promotional strategy for the mentioned movie.

However, that never happened due to The Rock's movie insurance barring him from doing any in-ring appearance and getting into a fight. He missed the biggest event of the year due to his promotional schedule for the same movie.

Even at the time of media sessions, the production has kept Vin and Rock apart due to the bad blood between them. Recently, Vin appeared in an interview with "USA Today" and opened up about his relationship with the former WWE champion.

He stated that they are two of the "Alphas" in the movie industry as their relationship goes way back. Their beef is like "Sometimes a pain in the (butt)."

He added that they are getting over it by saying, "I don't think the world really realises how close we are, in a weird way. I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don't think that was his intention. I know he appreciates how much I work this franchise. In my house, he's Uncle Dwayne."

The XXX: Return of the Xander Cage star further clarified how he is a "big brother" to the Rock and has carried the franchise of the "Fast & Furious". Here were his comments:

"I protect the franchise. I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he'll ever know. And it doesn't matter. He doesn't have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it. Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson only has one big brother in this film world and that's me."

In case you don't know, the Fate of the Furious movie has already hit theaters and eyes to be one of the biggest blockbusters of this year.
