New Delhi, March 3: As announced by WWE, Goldberg will compete in the Universal Championship match against Kevin Owens at the upcoming Fastlane PPV.

The match will take place at the main event on the night of March 5th at the BMO Bradley Harris center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This would also mark the last PPV before Wrestlemania.

Now, we have reported it earlier that since it's the Wrestlemania season, chances are low that KO will retain his title heading into the grandest stage of them all.

The fans are already expecting that the Myth will pick up the prime championship on the flagship show in the title match. This would be after 13 long years that he would compete in a championship match in the WWE.



Since he is working in the company as a part-timer, there is major fan backlash over the fact that he is going to be a champion. But, as reported by ringsidenews.com, the reason behind the same is pretty clear.

It stated that none but Vince McMahon himself is interested to see Goldberg as the reigning Universal Champion in the WWE. He has faith that the former WCW franchise will be able to add prestige to the title heading into Wrestlemania.

This will further add more stipulation to the already arranged match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg so the main event of the show turns out to be even bigger.


It is not surprising to see the boss wanting to see the bigger names holding the championship going into Wrestlemania since they can garner more attention from the crowd. Since they are veterans in the business, the Chairman has full faith that they will be able to pull off a successful match at the biggest night of the year.

This is the reason why a guy like Triple H featured in the main event of last year's Wrestlemania. For the exact same reason, The Rock has won the WWE championship prior to Wrestlemania 29 so that he can be the main event of the show. This is that particular time of the year when all the 'so-called' part-timers come out to overshadow the current roster.
