Bengaluru, February 10: Released betting odds around the 2023 Royal Rumble proved to be true as both the predicted winners turned out to be true for the Rumble matches. Now those similar odds also predict that both these names are likely to leave Wrestlemania 39 as champions.
During the latest bygone WWE premium live event, Cody Rhodes emerged as the winner of the Men's Royal Rumble match to secure the main event spot at WrestleMania 39.
Since Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the only world champion on the WWE roster, it's pretty evident that Rhodes will lock horns with him at the Show of Shows unless there's a title change in between.
BetOnline has already released the early betting odds for the confirmed card of WrestleMania 39 that indicates The American Nightmare should be the one to dethrone The Tribal Chief from his current championship reign.
Standing at -400 (1/4), Cody Rhodes is the odds-on favorite to defeat Roman Reigns, standing at +250 (5/2) at WrestleMania 39. After a long time, the champion could be heading into a title defense as the underdog until there's a massive switch in WWE's booking.
Currently, Rhodes continues to be the number-one babyface on the Monday Night Raw roster and it makes sense that he should be the one to end the title reign of the top heel of the roster.
With this move, Rhodes should move one step closer to becoming the new poster boy of the WWE after Reigns alongside fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a world champion in this sports entertainment business.
Before heading into the match against The American Nightmare, Roman Reigns is scheduled to defend the undisputed titles against Sami Zayn on the February 18 Elimination Chamber PLE in the latter's hometown of Montreal.
The other confirmed match for WrestleMania 39 is the Smackdown Women's Championship match where the champion Charlotte Flair will defend her title against the 2023 Women's Royal Rumble match winner Rhea Ripley.
The Nightmare of the Raw Women's division is a big early favorite, per the released odds, to capture the red brand gold for the second time in her career as well as 'Mania, standing at -500 (1/5) against The Queen at +300 (3/1).
Back at WrestleMania 36, Flair won the Rumble and challenged then NXT Women's Champion, Ripley to take her title away. Now, The Judgment Day's Mami will be seeking vengeance to possibly gain success against her long-term adversary.
This should also mark Ripley's second championship win at WrestleMania. Back at the 37th installment of the event, she defeated Asuka to win her maiden Raw Women's Title in her first official match from the main roster.
