Yassine Ouhdadi El Ataby Biography

Ouhdadi started his athletic journey in 2014. Initially, running was just a hobby for him. He enjoyed running twice a week in the mountains or on the road. It wasn't until 2018 that he began training on the track. His transition from football to running was driven by a desire to enjoy the sport.

Training and Challenges

Under the guidance of coach Benito Ojeda, Ouhdadi trains rigorously. He has 12 training sessions per week at the Sant Cugat High Performance Centre in Barcelona. However, his journey hasn't been without challenges. In mid-2019, a soleus muscle injury interrupted his training schedule.

Memorable Achievements

One of Ouhdadi's most memorable achievements is winning gold in the T13 5000m at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. This victory stands as a testament to his hard work and dedication. His hero, Moroccan middle-distance runner Hicham El Guerrouj, has been a significant inspiration throughout his career.

Philosophy and Goals

Ouhdadi believes in being a role model for children, with or without impairments. He aims to show them that progress is possible with hard work and dedication. Looking ahead, he has set his sights on winning two medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
