In 2009, Zheka made his debut for Ukraine at the European Championships in Reykjavik, Iceland. Since then, he has become a prominent figure in para swimming. Zheka's most memorable achievement came at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He won gold in the S7 100m backstroke. This victory solidified his status as one of the top para swimmers in the world. His coach has been a significant influence throughout his career.
