Alexandra Mirca Biography

Mirca started her archery journey in Chisinau. She chose the sport independently, driven by a desire to excel after seeing the achievements of other athletes. "Nobody influenced me. I wanted to do the sport and when I saw the results of other athletes I wanted to be even better," she said.

Achievements and Recognition

Mirca's career highlights include winning gold in the mixed team event at the 2016 European Championships in Nottingham. She also secured second place in the mixed team at the 2019 World Cup event in Berlin and finished fourth in the individual competition at the 2014 World Indoor Championships in Nimes.

In recognition of her contributions to sports, Mirca was the flag bearer for Moldova at the 2019 European Games opening ceremony in Minsk. She has also been honoured with the title of Honoured Master of Sport in Moldova.

Balancing Motherhood and Archery

Mirca's daughter, Paulina, was born in 2018. Balancing her roles as a mother and an athlete, she manages her time effectively. "I have a daughter and a family, but archery is my job. You could say the first part of the day I am with my daughter, and the second part of the day I have training," she shared.

Looking ahead, Mirca aims to finish in the top eight at future Olympic Games. Her dedication to archery remains strong as she continues to train rigorously while nurturing her family life.
