Initially, Alison wanted to play football. However, his mother enrolled him in a volleyball club due to limited spots in football. Inspired by the Brazilian duo Emanuel and Ricardo's gold medal win at the 2004 Athens Olympics, Alison embraced beach volleyball. "It wasn't my choice initially," he said. "But I grew to love it."

Alison trains in Vila Velha, Brazil, under the guidance of his personal coach Leandro Brachola. He plays on the left side as a blocker and is right-handed. His training regime is rigorous, reflecting his commitment to the sport.
