Velensek was an active child who enjoyed basketball and attended music school. However, judo quickly became her favourite activity. Her dedication to the sport has been unwavering since those early days. She currently trains with Judo Klub Z'dezele Sankaku in Celje under the guidance of coach Marjan Fabjan.
