Torben Beltz has been Kerber's personal coach since 2020. Beltz was also her coach when she won two of her three Grand Slam titles in 2016. Their reunion in July 2020 marked the fourth stint with Beltz since she turned professional in 2003.

She was named Women's Tennis Association Player of the Year in 2016 and Sportswoman of the Year in Kiel, Germany, in 2014 and 2015.
