Anita Wlodarczyk Biography
Wlodarczyk trains with AZS AWF Katowice in Poland under the guidance of coach Ivica Jakelic since 2020. Her rigorous training regime includes daily technical training, strength and functional training three times a week, and one day off each week.
Achievements and Milestones
Wlodarczyk's career is decorated with numerous accolades. She won gold in hammer throw at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She became the first female hammer thrower to win two Olympic gold medals in this event. At the 2017 World Championships in London, she became the first Polish athlete to win four world championship gold medals.
In 2015, she made history by becoming the first female hammer thrower to exceed 80 metres with a throw of 81.08m at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial Throws Festival in Cetniewo, Poland.
Injuries and Comebacks
Wlodarczyk's career has not been without challenges. In July 2019, she underwent keyhole surgery on a knee injury, which prevented her from competing at the World Championships in Doha. She returned to training in early 2020. Earlier injuries include a left knee injury in early 2014 and an ankle injury at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
Awards and Honours
Wlodarczyk has received numerous awards throughout her career. In 2020, she was named Athlete of the Decade by Track and Field Magazine. She was also honoured with the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2016 and received the Golden Spike seven years consecutively from 2012 to 2018.

Known by her nickname "Chrumka," Wlodarczyk enjoys cooking, reading, and travelling. She holds a degree in Physical Education from the Academy of Sport Education in Warsaw. She speaks both English and Polish fluently.

Wlodarczyk aims to win a gold medal at the upcoming World Championships in Eugene, OR, United States of America. She plans to retire after these championships. Reflecting on her career plans, she mentioned that it would be nice to finish with gold in Eugene.
