Arsen Galstyan Biography

Born and raised in Krasnodar, he pursued higher education at Kabardino-Balkaria State University in Nalchik, Russia. His journey into judo began by emulating his older brother, Tigran, who was already involved in the sport.

Sporting Career

He made his international debut in 2007, representing Russia. His preferred technique is Uchi mata, a popular judo throw. He trains with the St. Petersburg club under the guidance of coach Igor Romanov, who is also from Russia.

Family Influence

Judo runs in the family. His brothers, Arman and Tigran, also compete in the sport. "When I have nobody to train with, I recruit one of my brothers," he says. "It seems to me that my victories give them additional stimulation to train and win."
