Kopasz's mother played a pivotal role in his introduction to kayaking. Her encouragement led him to pursue the sport seriously. Over the years, he has drawn inspiration from Hungarian sprint paddler Zoltán Kammerer, who remains his idol.

In 2016, Kopasz was honoured as the Hungarian Male Young Athlete of the Year. This recognition highlighted his potential and dedication to the sport. His mother, Irene Demeter, has also contributed significantly to the national canoe sprint team as a coach.

Outside of kayaking, Kopasz has diverse interests. He enjoys hiking, geology, and studying minerals and rocks. His fascination with nutritional supplements also keeps him engaged. One of his favourite activities is gem hunting in the mountains.

Gem Hunter

Kopasz finds hiking rejuvenating and often combines it with gem hunting. Every year, he visits Habachtal in Austria with his family to search for emeralds. This hobby allows him to connect with nature and recharge.
