All England Open 2023: Indians Schedule, Results, Telecast and Live Streaming Information

The Yonex All England Open 2023 will feature a total of 64 singles competitors and 96 teams including world champions and Olympic champions.

PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen will spearhead Indian challenge at All England Open 2023

The 115th edition of All England Open Badminton Championship started at the Arena Birmingham in Birmingham on Tuesday (March 14) and is set to conclude with the finals on Sunday (March 19).

The Yonex All England Open 2023 featured a total of 64 singles competitors and 96 teams including world champions and Olympic champions. So far only two Indians have won the All England Open since it started in 1899.

Only Pullela Gopichand (2001) and Prakash Padukone (1980) have won the title at the All England Open. Both the greats won the men's singles competition.

PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth were the 4 Indians in singles competition. Also, there were 10 Indians competing in the doubles competition including the pairs of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and Treesa Jolly-Gayathri Gopichand.

Apart from Satwik-Chirag pair, none of the Indian shuttlers were seeded for the tournament and were handed a tough draw at the All England Open Badminton Championships 2023.

The tournament also featured the likes of Viktor Axelsen, Akane Yamaguchi, Tai Tzu Ting, Lee Zii Jia, Carolina Marin among many other stars from across the globe.

As for the Indian run in the tournament, most fell in the second round as Sen, Prannoy, Srikanth and top doubles pair Satwik-Chirag lost their round two matches, having started the tournament well.

Sindhu and two more doubles pair, on the other hand, made first round exits. But, the rising women's pair of Jolly and Gopichand have kept the Indian challenge alive as the duo have reached the All England Open Badminton Championships quarterfinal, in which they beat Chinese pair of Li Wenmei and Liu Xuanxuan.

The Indian women's doubles pair lost their second successive semifinal in All England Open Badminton Championships. They lost in straight games to Korean pair of Baek Ha-na & Lee So-hee.
