Barbara began her journey in beach volleyball at the age of 10. She started playing at Jorjao, the Jorge Barros Beach Volleyball School, located in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. Her preferred position on the court is left defender, and she plays left-handed.

Achievements and Awards

One of Barbara's most memorable achievements is winning gold at the 2015 World Championships in The Hague, Netherlands. She described the atmosphere as "unbelievable" and a culmination of all their hard work.

In 2012, Barbara was named the World Tour's Rookie of the Year. She also earned the title of Best Receiver on the Brazilian Beach Volleyball Tour for two consecutive seasons, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014.

Family and Influences

Barbara's family has a strong connection to volleyball. Her brother, Ricardo Seixas, played beach volleyball before becoming a technical assistant under renowned coach Leticia Pessoa. Her father-in-law, Bebeto de Freitas, represented Brazil in volleyball at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games and coached Brazil to a silver medal at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles.

Challenges and Experiences

Being married to her coach presents unique challenges for Barbara. She admits that it can be difficult to separate their personal life from their professional relationship on the court. However, she appreciates Ricardo's coaching skills and support.

Barbara also made history by becoming the first foreign player to appear in Turkey's national beach volleyball league. She won the 2010/11 national title with Kusadasi Aydin club alongside Pinar Ozkan. Despite enjoying the experience, she found Ankara's cold weather challenging during winter tournaments.
