He competes for KS Budowlani Opole and is coached by Ryszard Szewczyk at the club level and Ryszard Socko at the national level. Bonk made his international debut in 2000 at the Grand Prix in Slovakia, representing Poland.

In 2015, Bonk and his wife established the 'Fight For Me' foundation in memory of their daughter Julia. The foundation aims to raise money and equipment for the Hospice for Children in Opole, Poland. This initiative reflects Bonk's commitment to giving back to the community.
