Kapas has faced several challenges throughout her career. In 2011, she broke three ribs after a fall, causing her to miss the European Short Course Championships. In 2014, a prolonged virus affected her training. In 2020, she withdrew from the National Championships due to Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Despite these setbacks, Kapas has earned significant accolades. She was named among the University Athletes of the Year by the Hungarian University Sports Federation in January 2020. In 2012, she received the Bronze Hungarian Cross of Merit.
