Stratton's passion for athletics was evident from a young age. Her father and coach, Russell Stratton, has been a significant influence on her career since 2004. She also looks up to Australian long jumper Bronwyn Thompson and sprinter Cathy Freeman as her idols.

Career Highlights and Challenges

Throughout her career, Stratton has faced several challenges. In 2014, she missed six months due to a stress fracture in her L4 vertebra. She also dealt with stress fractures in her foot and pubic bone following the 2016 Rio Olympics. Despite these setbacks, she returned to competition in June 2017.

In September 2017, Stratton was diagnosed with a stress fracture in the sesamoid bone of her foot, requiring her to wear a walking boot for six weeks. Additionally, she was diagnosed with coeliac disease in April 2013 and an underactive thyroid in 2017. These health issues affected her performance at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, where she finished 10th.

Stratton resides in Melbourne with her partner Nathan Buschkuehl, who has represented Australia in triathlon. She holds a degree in Coaching and Exercise Science from Deakin University. Her brother Jamie and sister Kristy have also competed in long jump events at national levels.
