Céline Goberville Biography

Goberville's parents were deeply involved in shooting, which inspired her to take up the sport. Initially, she tried rifle shooting but found it too heavy and switched to pistol shooting. She represents AS Tir Creil in France and SGi Ludwigsburg in Germany.

Coaching and Technique

Her coaching team includes Kathrin Hochmuth from Ludwigsburg, Herve Carratu and Laurent Sasso from the national team, and her father, Daniel Goberville. She shoots with her right eye and right hand.

Personal Interests and Philosophy

Outside of shooting, Goberville enjoys horse riding. Her father has been the most influential person in her career. She believes that shooting reflects one's inner self, emphasising personal responsibility for both errors and successes.

Awards and Recognition

Goberville has received several honours throughout her career. She was the flag bearer for France at the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2014, she was awarded the National Order of Merit in France.

Family Achievements

Her family has a strong background in shooting sports. Her father, Daniel, has served as an official in the French shooting programme and was a former national team member. Her older sister Sandrine represented France at the 2018 World Championships in Changwon, Republic of Korea. Her cousin Olivia won gold at the 2010 World Championships in Munich, Germany.

Challenges and Comebacks

In 2015, Goberville almost quit shooting after a disappointing performance at a World Cup event in Munich. Her father persuaded her to continue, and she took a three-week break before returning to training. She credits her father for helping her regain her motivation.

Switching Vocations

In 2011, Goberville paused her physiotherapy studies to pursue horse riding. She enrolled at the Equestrian Centre South Buis in Cires les Mello, France, earning a diploma in equestrian studies for ponies. In February 2015, she signed a civil contract with the French Army to work as a riding instructor.

Future Ambitions

Looking ahead, Goberville aims to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Her journey continues to inspire many young athletes who look up to her dedication and resilience.
