She is affiliated with Brest Bretagne Nautisme in France and is coached by Gildas Philippe. Lecointre has been an elite athlete with the French navy, competing in military events and teaching at the naval school.

In 2019, Lecointre and her crewmate Aloise Retornaz were named Sailors of the Year by the French Sailing Federation. She was also honoured as a Knight of the Legion of Honour by the French government for her bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
