Lecointre's journey in sailing began at age seven at a sailing school in Le Havre, France. She entered her first competition at age ten. Her passion for the sport was ignited by her positive experiences at the sailing school.

Professional Career

She is affiliated with Brest Bretagne Nautisme in France and is coached by Gildas Philippe. Lecointre has been an elite athlete with the French navy, competing in military events and teaching at the naval school.

Achievements

In 2019, Lecointre and her crewmate Aloise Retornaz were named Sailors of the Year by the French Sailing Federation. She was also honoured as a Knight of the Legion of Honour by the French government for her bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Partnerships and Education

Lecointre began sailing with Retornaz in 2018. She holds a master's degree in marine sciences from the European University Institute of the Sea in Plouzane, France, and a degree in chemistry from the University of Western Brittany.

Future Plans

Lecointre aims to win gold at future Olympic Games. Her plans for expanding her family were delayed due to the rescheduling of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to 2021.

Her husband, Gideon Kliger, represented Israel in sailing at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympic Games. This shared passion for sailing strengthens their bond both personally and professionally.
