Her journey in badminton began with playing the sport with her grandmother. Although she was initially seen as unsuited for high-level competition because of her height, she compensated by enhancing her strength. "I was born with this height, but I can compensate the disadvantage by improving my strength, for example. I really like the sport," she said.

She represents Guangdong Province in China. Her coaching team includes Zhang Shaohui at the club level and Kang Kyung-Jin from South Korea at the national level. She plays right-handed and has shown remarkable skill and determination throughout her career.
